Wired magazine’s article on Eugene Kaspersky and the follow-up article on Kaspersky’s denials raise interesting questions. It is of course not impossible that Kaspersky has no connection with the Russian FSB, just as it is not impossible that pigs fly. Whatever the truth of the matter, we will probably never know, but his views on the WCIT and ITU-T effort to impose censorship on the Internet would appear to be well aligned with the position of the Russian government.
